Bastille Day by the water
Categories : Saint-Tropez, published on : 6/1/23
All summer long, Saint-Tropez lives to the rhythm of vibrant evenings and trendy parties. The contrast between this level of activity and the serenity of the preserved beaches and havens such as the Hotel La Bastide de Saint-Tropez is striking. On July 14th, Bastille Day, the town celebrates the Fête Nationale in its own way. Don't miss this great occasion.
A day of celebration
Every year, on the morning of July 14th, the mayor and elected officials of Saint-Tropez take part in a public celebration to recall and commemorate the values of the Republic and the meaning of this day that is so very special to French people everywhere. Then, everyone can enjoy the beach before meeting up in the evening on the Jean Reveille jetty for the much-anticipated fireworks display. Launched from the sea facing the old port at 10:45 p.m., the show is simply magical and enchants locals and visitors alike. It also kicks off a festive night.
In the vicinity of Saint-Tropez
The Bastille Day party takes place all over France and after watching the fireworks in Saint-Tropez you could, for example, head to the neighbouring town of Sainte-Maxime. Fireworks are also set off on Luc Provensal Beach at 10:30 p.m., followed by two popular balls. One takes place at the Théâtre de la Mer and will be hosted from 10:45 p.m. by the Christian Gil orchestra, which will tempt you onto the dance floor with the great pop songs of the 60s and 70s. The other ball can be found in the Place du Marché, where the band Renaissance will have you dancing well into the night.
After a frenzied evening of celebration, you’ll be pleased to return to the calm and intimacy of the Hotel La Bastide de Saint-Tropez! Enjoy a tasty breakfast on the terrace in the morning sunshine amidst the scents of our Mediterranean garden.
